This is a wonderful 1950s era black lace corset with garter straps made in the U.S.A. under the “Bra-S-Lette by Lady Marlene” brand name. The ILGWU (International Ladies Garment Workers Union) stamp on the label was in use between 1955 and 1963. The corset is strapless and the bra top is pointed. It is partially lined in a grey coloured nylon/acetate mesh behind the lace panels while the rest is made of semi-opaque black nylon/acetate rubber panels. The piece closes with a series of metal eyes and hooks.
Retailer’s label: Anna Globus Hill Montreal. Anna Globus Hill owned three lingerie shops on Queen Mary Road in the Snowdon area of Montreal.
