Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a striking 1940s era hat made in Montreal by milliner Flore Deschamps.  It is made of red straw with a wide upturned brim.  The edge is finished with red grosgrain ribbon and the crown, which is round, is decorated with silk velvet flowers.  The brim is wider at the front than the back.

Label: The label reads “Haute Mode Flore Deschamps 276 Mont Royal E Montreal”.  According to historical sources, during the 1930s that address was attributed to “Salon Flora”, but in 1939, it started to be attributed to Miss Flore Deschamps.

Sizing: No size is indicated, as it is custom made.  Still, this should fit a medium sized head.   Please note the following measurements:

Circumference of opening:  22”

Brim:  4 1/2” following the contour on the underside at the front - 3 1/4” at the back

Condition:  The hat is in very clean condition - no cracks, wear or soiling.  This hat has been very well cared for over the years.

This is a very nice quality hat - fit for any garden party!
