This is an interesting variation on the Gene Verrecchio cockatoo design dating to 1941.  One usually sees the design in the Duette clip form with the cockatoos facing away from each other.  This one piece brooch with the cockatoos facing each other is stamped “Coro” on the backside and is a documented variation.

This piece measures 3 1/8” in height and is in very good condition with the exception of some missing rhinestones and a bit of enamel wear to the bottom tail, maybe a bit to the top feather on one bird, quite minor (see last close-up photos).  I counted 7 missing stones, most at the bottom tails - shouldn’t be difficult for a jewelry repair service to replace these.  In addition, there are no stones in the eyes, but possibly this is normal, I’m not sure.

In any case, this is a nice addition to a Coro collection, worth having repaired as it appears to be rather difficult to come by…..
