Vintage 1938 Ski Catalogue Les Grands Magasins Louvre Paris Winter Sports

This is a 1938 ski catalogue issued by Les Grands Magasins Louvre, a Paris department store established in 1855 and closed in 1978 (not to be confused with the museum).  The cover features an illustration of a woman skier, signed “Paulin” at the bottom right and reads “Sports Hiver au Louvre Paris Saison 1938 - 1939).  The catalogue is mostly focused on skiing even through it is a Winter Sports catalogue.  It measures 11 7/8” by 9 3/8” closed and consists of 16 pages (self-cover).  It is in very good condition with some toning to the cover and the centre spread is detached from the top staple - nothing major and everything is intact and legible.

This is not a common piece and a wonderful early skiing collectible from a renowned Parisian department store - despite the small condition problems, a wonderful display piece!
