Vintage 1930 Skiers Illustrated Catalogue Les Grands Magasins Louvre Paris Winter Sports
This is a circa 1930 12 page (including cover) Winter Sports catalogue issued by Les Grands Magasins Louvre, a Paris department store established in 1855 and closed in 1978 (not to be confused with the museum). The cover features a wonderful art deco era illustration of two high jump skiers, signed “Paulin” at the upper right. The catalogue is mostly focused on skiing but has an illustration of hockey sticks, a small sled and some women’s fashion. It measures 11 5/8” by 8 3/8” closed. It is in good condition with visible creasing to the cover and a fold crease towards the bottom for the entire catalogue, a bit of edge wear and some toning to the periphery of the back cover - nothing major and everything is intact and legible.
This is not a common piece and a wonderful early skiing collectible from a renowned Parisian department store - despite the small condition problems, a wonderful display piece!
