This is an enamel pendant necklace made by Quebec jewelry artisans Micheline de Passille and Yves Sylvestre.
The piece consists of a pendant featuring an abstract Picasso-like image of a lady in blue, brown, black and white enamel on silver toned metal. Note the fish form eye in black and the other eye represented as a white dot. The pendant is hanging on a chain. The back of the pendant is stamped "de Passille Sylvestre Fait au Quebec Made in Canada". This is a later production piece, probably dating to circa 1980. The pendant measures 1 3/8" by 1 1/8" and the chain has a length of 18", laid out straight. It is in very good condition with the exception of some tiny surface nicks on the pendant, really not at all noticeable unless inspected with a jeweler's loop except for a tiny spot on the right margin.
Quebec produced some very good jewelry artisans during the 60s and 70s, with de Passille and Sylvestre considered amongst the best.....this is a wonderful enameled pendant.....
