Versions of this trademark was used by Medicine Hat Potteries from 1938 until 1955, but I believe that this is the earliest version. The cobalt blue plate is unmarked.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe orange-red colour is particularly interesting. Medicine Hat Potteries is documented as having produced orange or \"fiesta red\" pottery using \u003cb\u003euranium oxide in the glaze\u003c\/b\u003e, resulting in measurable radioactivity. Examples of orange Medicine Hat Potteries have been tested and documented by the Western Development Museum. While this particular plate has \u003cb\u003enot been tested with a Geiger counter\u003c\/b\u003e, its colour and period are consistent with the uranium-glazed red\/orange wares produced by the company.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMedicine Hat Potteries began production in \u003cb\u003e1938\u003c\/b\u003e, and period research records the introduction of ridged dinnerware by about \u003cb\u003e1940\u003c\/b\u003e. The cobalt blue plate also has some wear to the underside.
