This is a Beauce Quebec pottery wall plaque commemorating Expo 67, the Worlds Fair held in Montreal in 1967. Expo 67 is considered to have been one of the best and most successful World Fair. It wa held during the Summer of Love and the enthusiasm of that time permeated the atmosphere over the fair site. It is made with raised symbols that represented the Fairs theme Man and His World. The plaque is quite large measuring 12 7/8 in diameter and is fairly heavy, weighing 3 lbs and 13 oz. The plaque is finished in a deep reddish brown colour with the symbols finished in gold - quite striking. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or wear - this has been very well cared for over the years.
