Vintage 1980s Beaded Dress by Karl Lagerfeld - Geometric Pattern

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a fully beaded dress featuring a gorgeous multicolored geometric beaded pattern.  The pattern consists of pyramid/triangular shapes in red, yellow, magenta, blue and green linked together by white double lines of bugle beads.  The rest of the dress is beaded with black beads - all beading is against a black background.  The dress is inspired by a vintage “Suzie Wong” style - has a notched, narrow high collar and is made in a sleeveless shift style, mid thigh length, but without the tapered waist of a Suzie Wong dress.  The dress is fully lined in a black silky fabric, and closes with a nylon zipper up the back.

Sizing: French size 40 is indicated, which is equivalent to a US size 10, so this should fit a medium size. Please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the dress into account (please measure your body, which should be slightly smaller than the measurements supplied, or measure another similar garment that you might have)

Shoulders: 15” across

Bust: 35” around

Waist:  35” around

Hips:  37” around

Overall length: 35", measured flat

This dress is in very good condition with no missing beads that I can detect and free of wear, tear, stains, odor or other defect.  It looks to have seen little use and was well cared for and stored over the years.

This is a fabulous dress, really a nice example of Lagerfeld design.   Excellent quality and striking beading.
