This is a wonderful brooch made by quality jeweler Henkel and Grosse of Pforzheim, Germany. The firm was founded in 1907 by Heinrich Henkel and Florentine Grosse. They produced jewelry for Schiaparelli and Jeanne Lanvin before WWII, and for Christian Dior since 1955.
This brooch is signed on the backside with "Grosse Germany 1963". It resembles an aster flower in form. It is gold toned, and very possibly gold plated.
It measures 2 1/4" in diameter and weighs 30 grams (1 oz). It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear - some surface wear is visible when examining with a jeweler's loop, but really not noticeable under normal viewing.
This is a lovely quality pin....very sophisticated design....
