This is an Andre Courreges Paris designer vintage jumper dating to the early 1970s. It is made in a full length style with shoulder straps that attach with snaps at the front. The jumper has two side pockets, does up at the back with a nylon zipper and is fully lined in rayon acetate. The blouse is made of stocking-like nylon mesh and has an acrylic wool turtleneck collar and cuffs. The front is embroidered with the Courreges logo just under the turtleneck.
Makers Label: Courreges Paris Couture Future Made in France. Couture Future was Andre Courreges' higher end ready-to-wear line, which he introduced in 1967 for sale in department stores. The label is stamped with a number - 0031623.
Retailer Label: Lily Simon Montreal. Lily Simon was an exclusive Westmount boutique that sold only high-end designer fashion, and was well known for retailing Courreges.
Jumper: 100% Wool with an acetate lining
Blouse: Nylon with acrylic trim and cotton embroidery
Size "A" is indicated, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Bust: 33"-34" around, difficult to measure due to open back
Waist: 35" around
Hips: 42" around
Hemline: 65" around
Length: 56" from the top of the straps
Shoulders: 12 1/2" across seam-to-seam, unstretched
Sleeves: 21" long unstretched
Sleeve Inseam: 16" long unstretched
Bust: 26" around unstretched
Although the blouse obviously stretches to accommodate the body, it's obvious that it is small. I would guide myself based on the jumper as the set did fit my mannequin and both pieces are marked as size A.
The jumper is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors, however the blouse has a number of small holes located at both underarms and also a few holes on the sleeves, the front of the blouse, a couple of small holes at the upper back and a pull across the back. The holes on the front of the blouse are hidden when wearing the jumper, but the holes at the underarms, sleeves and upper back are visible (see photos). These nylon mesh tops are rather rare due to their fragility, so the damage can be forgiven, especially if you are a collector.
This is a wonderful piece of vintage Courreges - fabulous quality and style!
