This is a wonderful mid-century modernist brooch or pin made in Denmark by Hans Hansen. The piece is made of ebony wood that is overlaid with some type of white material, probably an enamel paint. Three interlocking boomerang shapes are inlaid on the white surface. The piece itself has a “scalene” triangular form. It measures 2 3/8” in height by 1” in width across its widest and is very light. It is in very good condition. It retains a partial foil label that reads “Danish H H” - “Original” is missing from the bottom. Hans Hansen was founded in 1906, and when Hansen passed away in 1940, the firm was taken over by his son, Karl Gustav Hansen. Georg Jensen acquired the business in 1992.
This is a wonderful mid-century modernist brooch, great Danish design!
