This is a pre-owned African short sleeved cotton shirt that advertises Primus beer of the Congo. Primus is owned by Heineken and is the most popular beer in the Congo. The shirt has wonderful graphics - a short skirted waitress carrying a tray of Primus beer, the Primus label, glasses of beer against stars and the motto “Pelisa Ngwasuma”. Pelisa Ngwasuma means “Light the Fire” and is a rap song by Congolese artist JB Mpiana, who is a paid spokesman for Primus beer. The shirt is printed in bright colours of red, yellow, blue, light blue, brown, black and white. The shirt probably dates to sometimes after 2004, when the song Pelisa Ngwasuma was released.
Sizing: The label states size L for large, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Neck: 16 1/2” around
Shoulders: 21” across seam-to-seam
Sleeves: 9 1/2” long
Chest: 48” around
Waist: 48” around
Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear or stains - this looks to have been worn only a couple of times.
This is a fun shirt - rare in these parts!
