This is a vintage mid 1960s era Italian couture orange wool suit made in Italy for Ogilvy's of Montreal. Both the jacket and skirt have a "Bianco" label sewn into it. I haven't been able to find out anything about this particular Italian couturier, but this is an excellent quality suit. The suit appears to be entirely hand sewn. The jacket is made in a double breasted style with a narrow collar. It has eight round black plastic buttons on the front. The jacket has dropped shoulders and the skirt is cut in an above the knee length. Both pieces are full lined in orange rayon acetate.
Age: mid 1960s
Retailer's Label: Made in Italy for Ogilvy's Montreal. Ogilvy's was an upscale department store that sold quality fashion
Sizing: Size 12 is indicated, but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the thickness of the wool into consideration):
Shoulders: 23" across seam-to-seam (dropped shoulder)
Sleeves: 15" from shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 16 1/2" long
Bust: 40" around, taken under the arms
Overall length: 21"
Hips: 39" around
Overall length: 24"
Condition: It's in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors. It looks like this suit saw little use and was very well kept over the years.
This is an excellent quality suit by an Italian couturier dating to a time when Italian couture was coming into its own.....great color and style.
