Vintage Ice Bucket Chrome with Cherry Red Bakelite Handles by Glo-Hill
This vintage ice bucket was made by Glo-Hill of Montreal, Canada, and features a wonderful mid-century barware look. It is made from heavy chrome metal with cherry red Bakelite handles and a matching lid finial, both showing dark tones with red highlights.
Glo-Hill was founded in 1946 by Leo Globus and Harry Hill and became known for quality Canadian tableware and barware through the 1950s and 1960s. This example has a clean cylindrical form, incised line decoration, polished chrome finish, and the original Glo-Hill “gh” mark stamped on the underside.
There is no glass liner, but the bucket remains fully usable for chilling wine, champagne, or bottled drinks, it’s just necessary to clean and dry the piece after use.
