Vintage Beswick Large Foal Head Down Horse Figurine Model 947 Gloss Bay Arthur Gredington

This vintage Beswick Large Foal (Head Down), Model 947, was designed by the sculptor Arthur Gredington and is one of the classic horse studies produced by Beswick England. Introduced in 1961, the model beautifully captures the gentle, inquisitive nature of a young foal as it lowers its head in a relaxed grazing pose. 

Finished in the attractive Gloss Bay colourway, the foal features a rich warm brown coat with beautifully blended shading, a black mane and tail, dark points, and softly graduated lighter stockings. The proportions, anatomical detail and high-gloss finish are characteristic of Beswick's craftsmanship and Arthur Gredington's exceptional ability to portray horses with both realism and grace.

The underside is marked with the Beswick England oval backstamp.
