Vintage 1998 Guy Laroche Fall Winter Fashion Lookbook Press Portfolio Paris

This is an original Guy Laroche Prêt-à-Porter Automne-Hiver 1998 fashion presentation portfolio, produced to showcase the French fashion house’s Fall/Winter 1998 ready-to-wear collection.

Rather than a conventional bound catalogue, the presentation consists of nine loose glossy card sheets housed in a large Guy Laroche folder. Eight of the sheets are printed on both sides with striking full-page fashion photographs from the collection. The ninth is an information sheet identifying the presentation:

“Guy Laroche Prêt-à-Porter”
“Automne-Hiver 1998”

The reverse lists Guy Laroche boutiques and retail points around the world, including locations in France, Germany, England, Belgium, Chile, Japan, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand, Canada and numerous other countries.

The fashion photography is particularly characteristic of the late 1990s, with dramatic studio compositions presenting both the women's and men's collections. Clothing pictured includes sharply tailored trouser suits, coats, dresses and evening pieces, along with shoes and accessories. One image features a colourful Guy Laroche scarf, while another presents a bottle of Fidji perfume.

The information sheet credits the photography to Zenström and the advertising agency Le Nouvel Eldorado.

An unusual piece of surviving fashion ephemera from the House of Guy Laroche, and an excellent reference or display piece for a collector of 1990s fashion, French couture and prêt-à-porter, fashion photography or designer advertising material.

Measurements: Each sheet measures 12 3/4" × 12 3/4". Folder measures approximately 13 1/4" × 13 1/4".

Condition: The photographic sheets are in excellent condition overall. The outer folder shows age and handling wear, including creasing, but still is very good. Please refer to the photographs for condition.
