Vintage 1980s New Wave Purple Leather Jacket Oversized Style Made in Canada

This vintage Création Jez Montréal leather jacket, dating most likely to the 1980s New Wave era, is made in Canada and fashioned in beautifully supple leather in a vibrant shade of rich purple.

The jacket has the unmistakable oversized blouson silhouette of the period, with broad, structured shoulders, a generously cut body and a gathered, elasticized waistband that creates a softly rounded shape.

The front features a broad notched collar with wide lapels and a double-breasted closure with six metal snap fasteners, three of which are functional. The shoulders are particularly distinctive, with buttoned epaulettes and multiple rows of narrow stitched pleats extending down from the shoulder seams, adding texture and emphasizing the jacket's dramatic silhouette.

The leather is soft and pliable, with a smooth, subtly lustrous finish and natural folds that complement the relaxed styling. Vertical stitched panels run down the front, while two slash pockets are incorporated at the lower sides.

The sleeves are full and slightly gathered into fitted leather cuffs. The back is simply styled with a centre seam and additional stitched panels, while the elasticized lower edge gathers the leather into a classic blouson shape.
