Vintage 1970s Pierre Cardin silk kipper tie made in France with navy red grey geometric pattern

Vintage 1970s Pierre Cardin Silk Kipper Tie Made in France

$48.00

This is a vintage 1970s Pierre Cardin silk necktie made in France, featuring a striking geometric pattern in shades of navy blue, red, grey, and white. Please note that the navy blue may appear black in the photos, but is in reality a deep navy tone.

This tie is a classic example of Pierre Cardin's influential menswear design from the early 1970s. The bold abstract pattern combines sweeping curved bands with repeating circular and geometric motifs, creating a dynamic Mod-inspired look that perfectly captures the transition from late 1960s design into the wide-tie “kipper” era of the 1970s.

Woven from silk and bearing the original Pierre Cardin Paris label, this tie was made in France during the period when Cardin was one of the most influential names in international fashion. The dramatic 4 1/2 inch width and generous 59 inch length make it an ideal accessory for vintage-inspired tailoring, period fashion, or contemporary statement dressing.

A wonderful piece of authentic French designer menswear from one of the defining figures of twentieth-century fashion.

Measurements

Width at widest point: 4 1/2 inches

Length: 59 inches

Condition

In very good condition. The silk remains bright and attractive, with excellent colour and presentation. I note no significant flaws or condition issues. There is one area near the narrow end that is a little twisted from being knotted; a proper pressing would take care of this, and it does not affect the presentation of the tie while being worn.
