Vintage 1950s Daniel Green Black Satin Boudoir Slippers

Vintage 1950s Daniel Green Black Satin Boudoir Slippers Red Rhinestone Bow Heels

$120.00

A glamorous pair of vintage Daniel Green “Comfy” boudoir slippers, made in the USA and dating most likely to the 1950s.

These elegant slip-on mules are fashioned in black satin with bright red satin insoles. The pointed toes are decorated with layered bows in black over red, each gathered at the centre with a small row of sparkling clear rhinestones.

The slippers have a shaped silhouette with pointed closed toes, open backs and 3-inch heels. Black satin also covers the heels, creating an elegant evening look.

The red satin insoles are stamped in gold:

The leather soles are stamped DANIEL GREEN / MADE IN U.S.A. / 275.

Daniel Green was particularly well known for its stylish women's house and boudoir slippers, many of which were designed to be every bit as glamorous as conventional evening footwear. The combination of pointed toes, high sculpted heels, satin construction and elaborate bow decoration is characteristic of the company's mid-century designs.

Measurements: Insole 9 3/4" long; sole approximately 3 1/8" wide at the widest point; heel 3" high.

Although these should fit a modern US women's size 8, please compare these measurements with a similar pair of shoes that fits well, as vintage sizing can differ considerably from modern sizing.

Condition: Very good condition. The black satin retains a lovely sheen and the red interiors remain vibrant with only slight soiling from use. The bows and rhinestone embellishments are intact. The leather soles show relatively light wear, as shown in the photographs. There are minor signs of age and use consistent with vintage footwear. Please view the enlarged photographs.

This is a particularly attractive pair of Daniel Green slippers – gorgeous!
