Vintage 1930s Phoenix Consolidated Glass Bittersweet Vase Art Deco Blue Berry Art Glass
This is an Art Deco era 1930s American art glass vase in the Bittersweet pattern originally designed by Reuben Haley for Phoenix Glass. The moulded glass vase has an elegant elongated baluster form with a softly frosted opaque white ground. Its surface is decorated in raised relief with trailing pale aqua-green vines, clusters of softly coloured blue-lavender berries, and elongated leaves in warm shades of tan and brown. The decoration flows gracefully around the body of the vase, creating a wonderfully organic contrast to its sculptural form.
This example is unmarked, as is common with much Phoenix / Consolidated art glass of the period.
The vase is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks or pronounced wear. There are minor surface marks to the underside from surface contact. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
A highly decorative example of American Art Deco glass, appealing to collectors of Phoenix Glass, Consolidated Glass and early twentieth-century moulded art glass - would work great even in a modern decor, timeless!
