This is an original 1985 Canadian vinyl LP of Céline Dion en concert, Céline Dion's first live album and an early recording from the period before her international breakthrough.
The album was recorded at Place des Arts in Montreal on May 31, 1985, during Dion's 1985 Canadian concert tour, and released later that year on the Quebec TBS label.
The recording captures the young Céline Dion performing a mixture of her early French-language repertoire and interpretations of English-language standards. Among the highlights are “D'amour ou d'amitié,” “Mon ami m'a quittée,” “Tellement j'ai d'amour pour toi,” “Une colombe,” “Up Where We Belong,” “What a Feeling” and “Over the Rainbow.” The concert also includes musical tributes to Félix Leclerc and Michel Legrand.
“Up Where We Belong” is performed as a duet with Paul Baillargeon.
The original cover features a wonderful early photograph of Dion performing on stage, while the reverse includes the complete track listing, musician credits and a photograph of the concert at Place des Arts.
