1930s Belgian Evening Bag Gold & Black Hand Sequinned Art Deco Purse

Made in Belgium during the Art Deco era, this small 1930s evening purse is extensively decorated with black and metallic gold sequins arranged in bold vertical circular patterns. The workmanship is detailed, extending across both sides, the flounced side panels and the short handle. An interior label reads “Made in Belgium.”

The purse is constructed of black fabric and has a softly structured pouch shape with flounced side panels, which are also decorated with sequins in a circular pattern. Small faux pearl and faceted bead accents appear at the centres of several of the motifs, while bugle beads outline the upper edge and handle.

The short fabric handle is covered with black sequins and edged on both sides with gold-coloured bugle beads. The same bugle-bead trim continues around the upper edge of the purse.

The bag closes across the top with a metal zipper and is lined in off-white satin. The lining includes a small interior pocket.
