Vintage 1950s Pyrex Flamingo Pink Mixing Bowl Set 300-18 Original Box

This is a complete 1950s Pyrex Flamingo Pink mixing bowl set, model 300-18, with all three nesting bowls that were never used. The set remains with its original box, original packing material, Pyrex promotional pamphlet and bridal shower gift card.

The original box identifies the set as:

PYREX 3 PIECE COLOR MIXING BOWL SET
300-18 PINK
Corning Glass Works – Corning, N.Y.

The set consists of three nesting Pyrex mixing bowls in graduated shades of pink, with white interiors. The capacities indicated on the original packaging are:

2 1/2 quarts

1 1/2 quarts

1 1/2 pints

The undersides bear the raised PYREX / TRADE MARK / MADE IN U.S.A. / OVENWARE markings.

What makes this particular set especially interesting is that it appears to have survived essentially as it was originally given. Included is a period bridal shower gift card, inscribed in blue ink:

“To Betty – From Aunt Margaret”

The printed message inside reads:

“It certainly
Was fun to choose it…
I’m hoping, too,
You’ll often use it!”

Ironically, Betty apparently did just the opposite — the bowls were never used.

Also included is the original folding Pyrex promotional pamphlet, Pyrex – the perfect gift, illustrating the company's contemporary cookware, dinnerware, casserole dishes and mixing bowls. The original corrugated and paper packing material remains between the bowls.

These Flamingo Pink Pyrex mixing bowls were introduced in 1956 and produced until 1962.

This is particularly unusual as a complete boxed set with its original ephemera and packing material. These bowls were everyday kitchenware and were normally removed from their packaging and put into use, so finding a set unused and still accompanied by the material associated with its original presentation as a bridal shower gift is considerably less common.

Condition: The three bowls are unused and are in exceptionally well-preserved condition, retaining their glossy pink finishes and clean white interiors. They remain with the original packing material. The cardboard box has storage wear, including dust soiling, creasing and edge wear, as shown in the photographs. The original Pyrex pamphlet and bridal shower card are also included. - the pamphlet is a little crushed due to being between bowls.  Please refer to the photographs for details.
