Vintage 1960s 70s Montreux Knitting Swiss Op Art Mod Jersey Dress Green Pink Purple

This is a vintage late 1960s to early 1970s jersey knit dress by Montreux Knitting, bearing a Swiss label with Montreux and Genève on it. The dress features an unusual geometric print in vivid emerald green, hot pink, magenta and purple, with a design in line with the Op Art and Mod fashions of the period.

The dress has a simple round neckline finished with a narrow band, short sleeves and a gently shaped bodice that follows the waist before falling into a softly flared skirt. A zipper at the centre back provides the closure.

The print consists of a broad vertical striped panel extending down the centre front to a series of concentric squares at the waist. Large geometric blocks of pink and green frame the upper body, while the lower skirt features an elaborate arrangement of elongated, intersecting loops and angular forms. The pattern continues around the sides and across the back.

The dress is made from a fine, smooth jersey knit with a soft drape and slight sheen. The fabric has some stretch and appears consistent with rayon, although there is no fibre-content label to confirm its composition. The bodice only is lined in a green synthetic fabric, possibly nylon-based; the remainder of the dress is unlined.

The original Montreux Knitting — Montreux / Genève label remains at the back neckline, together with a separate size label marked 42, approximately equivalent to a modern US size 8–10. Please refer to the actual measurements for fit.
