Vintage Italian Ceramic Madonna Bust Hand Painted Virgin Mary Figure
This vintage Italian ceramic Madonna bust depicts the Virgin Mary in prayer with her eyes gently closed and hands clasped beneath a flowing hooded mantle. The figure is decorated in a hand-painted design featuring shades of blue, pink, black and gold, creating an appearance that is both devotional and highly decorative.
The serene facial modelling and richly ornamented cloak give the piece a distinctive mid-century Italian character. Condition
Very good condition.
There are a couple of very tiny flakes along the front edge of the hood/shroud. These are extremely minor and do not detract at all from the overall appearance. No cracks or repairs.
