This is an unused pair of vintage 1950s Phantom seamless nylon stockings, made in Canada by National Hosiery Mills Limited of Hamilton, Ontario.
The stockings are marked at the upper welt:

These are fine 15-denier micromesh nylon stockings, produced using a 400-needle construction. Unlike traditional full-fashioned stockings of the period, these are seamfree, with no back seam.
The stockings have reinforced heels and toes and an attractive decorative openwork diamond pattern around the upper welt.
The colour is particularly appealing and somewhat unusual. The original box identifies it as “SILVER BLUE”, a sophisticated muted blue-grey or slate blue shade that is quite distinctive from the more commonly encountered beige and brown hosiery colours of the period.
The original black Phantom box features a dramatic photographic image of a woman's face and identifies the manufacturer:

The stockings probably date to approximately 1955–1957.

Condition:
The stockings are unused and in excellent condition. They retain their original Phantom tissue paper with its wonderful spiderweb design. The original box shows considerable age and storage wear, including edge and corner wear, creasing and losses to the black paper covering, as shown in the photographs.
A particularly attractive pair of mid-1950s Canadian seamless nylon stockings, especially appealing in the unusual original Silver Blue colour.
