Vintage 1940s Black Taffeta Half Slip with Lace Trim & Pink Satin Bow Size M
This vintage black half slip is made from crisp rayon-based taffeta with a beautiful soft sheen and fluid drape characteristic of lingerie from the late 1930s through the 1940s. The slip features an elasticized waist and is finished with layered black lace ruffles at the hem, accented by a pale blush pink satin bow at the front.
The contrast between the inky black taffeta and delicate pink bow gives the piece a romantic boudoir aesthetic with unmistakable film noir glamour. The lace hem creates lovely movement beneath dresses and skirts while also making the slip striking enough to style as visible vintage lingerie or part of a gothic or dark coquette wardrobe.
The fabric appears to be rayon taffeta rather than modern polyester satin, with the slightly crisp hand and elegant drape associated with earlier rayon lingerie fabrics. No maker or fabric labels remain present.
A beautiful piece for collectors of vintage lingerie, 1940s fashion, pinup styling, gothic fashion, or romantic boudoir clothing.
