Large Tiffin No. 319 Two Handled Etched Glass Vase with Silver Deposit Rim c.1930s
This elegant large American glass vase is believed to have been produced by the Tiffin Glass Company during the 1930s, using the firm's documented No. 319 two-handled vase blank. The graceful trophy form features a wide trumpet-shaped mouth, hand-applied scroll handles and a broad pedestal foot, all characteristic of Tiffin's elegant glass production of the period.
The clear glass is decorated with an exceptionally attractive botanical engraving depicting flowing vines, deeply veined foliage, fern fronds and pendant blossoms arranged in a highly naturalistic composition that wraps around the body of the vase. Unlike Tiffin's better-known catalogued floral patterns such as Fuchsia or Coronet, this decoration has not been identified despite extensive research. It is therefore possible that the vase was decorated by an independent specialty decorating house using a Tiffin blank, a practice that was not uncommon during the elegant glass era or a rarer unidentified Tiffin etch.
Adding further distinction is a narrow silver-deposit rim, an intentional metallic decoration applied to the upper edge of the vase. This smooth, silvery finish complements the refined engraving and contributes to the vase's sophisticated appearance.
Whether displayed with flowers or on its own, this is an impressive example of American elegant glass and an unusually large size for this form.

Although the botanical engraving has not yet been matched to a documented factory pattern, the vase closely corresponds to the documented Tiffin No. 319 blank. Because Tiffin blanks were sometimes decorated by specialty engraving firms and retailers, it is possible that this example represents one of those less commonly encountered decorated variants.
