Antique Metallic Passementerie Trim Gold Metal Lace Edging 4 Pieces French Victorian Costume Restoration
This is a group of four antique metallic passementerie trims, woven with gilt-coloured metal-wrapped threads in an intricate openwork design. The centre features an attractive braided motif framed by delicate ladder-like borders, creating a rich yet airy appearance that catches the light beautifully.
These trims were likely produced during the late Victorian or Edwardian period (circa 1890–1915) and would originally have been used to embellish garments, ecclesiastical vestments, theatrical costumes, military uniforms, furnishings, or decorative textiles. The metallic thread has developed a lovely mellow antique patina over time that gives the trim added character.
The lot consists of four separate lengths, making it ideal for restoration projects, couture fashion, millinery, mixed-media artwork, or collectors of antique sewing and textile accessories.
