W. Kevan of Mount Vernon, New York\u003c\/b\u003e, providing provenance for the photograph.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe location has an interesting connection to American circus history. The Mount Vernon estate was the former home of \u003cb\u003eJames Anthony Bailey (1847–1906)\u003c\/b\u003e, the noted circus proprietor of Barnum \u0026amp; Bailey fame. His mansion, known as \u003cb\u003eThe Knolls\u003c\/b\u003e, was built in 1904. Following Bailey's death, the property later became the Bailey Park Country Club in 1922.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe former Bailey Estate was subsequently redeveloped as the \u003cb\u003ePark Lane\u003c\/b\u003e residential complex, constructed beginning in 1928.
