This is a quality vintage Brioni tie.  Brioni, of course, is one of the most expensive tailors in the world, each garment hand made and sewn by expert workmen.  Brioni was founded in 1945, and during the 50s was discovered by American actors Clark Gable and Cary Grant while working at the Cinecitta Studios in Rome.  I believe that this vintage Brioni tie dates to the early 1970s from the width of it.  It is in very good condition, clean, and free from wear, tear, staining or odour.  This vintage Brioni tie measures 59” in length and 3” in width at its widest.  It is made in a beautiful twill silk that is printed in red, blue, three tones of brown and black.  The label reads “Made in Italy Brioni by Santostefano Pure Silk Made in Italy”.  Santostefano  is the brand name of Italo Ferretti, and made Brioni’s ties for many years, starting during the early 1970s - they are known for exceptional quality.  The retailer’s label is affixed to the slim end and reads “George Straith Ltd. Victoria Canada”.  Beautiful quality, very collectible - wonderful vintage Brioni tie!
