This is a wonderful 1930s era tie featuring an art deco pattern.  The pattern consists of semi-circles constructed of “pointillated” white and brown threads, each semi-circle with a red centre.  The label reads “Tebilized Lining E Reg. 32”.  Tootal Ltd. developed resins during the 1920s to render fabrics crease resistant, particularly rayon, which has a propensity for creasing.  They called their process “Tebilized” and trademarked it in 1932.  They did license other manufacturers to use their process, so it is difficult to say if this was made by Tootal or some other manufacturer. No matter who made it, this is a very interesting tie.  The tie measures 51” in length and has a width of 2 3/4” at its widest.  It is in very clean condition with no spots, soiling, pulls, wear or tears.  Please ignore any shadows caused by lighting and the sheen of the silk.  Other than the two small interior stains, this looks great and is ready to wear. This is a beautiful quality tie - great addition to a tie collection or just a nice piece to wear!
