1960s Vintage Brioni Necktie Grey Silk Skinny Tie

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a rare 1960s vintage Brioni necktie.  Brioni of Rome, of course, is one of the most expensive tailors in the world, each garment hand made and sewn by expert workmen.  Brioni was founded in 1945, and during the 50s was discovered by American actors Clark Gable and Cary Grant while working at the Cinecitta Studios in Rome.  Brioni continues to supply made to measure suits to an exclusive clientele.  Among their customers were Kirk Douglas, Henry Fonda, Rock Hudson, Al Pacino, Peter Jennings, Robert Wagner, John Wayne, Robert Kennedy, Nelson Mandela and Luciano Pavarotti. This vintage Brioni necktie is in very good condition, looks clean except for a few small spots that I had to debate whether they were stains or shadows, still not sure.  This vintage Brioni necktie measures 53” in length and 2 1/4” in width at its widest.  It is woven in a diagonal stripe-like pattern that you can see in the close-up photos.  The pattern consists of circular wheel-like shapes in black and in yellow, teal and black against a silvery charcoal grey background.  The label reads “Brioni Roma All Silk Made in Italy”.
Beautiful quality - rare to find 1960s vintage Brioni neckties!
