Schott Bros Leather Flight Jacket MA-1 224 Pebble Finish Sml

This is a pre-owned Schott Bros leather flight jacket made in the USA by Schott Bros. of New York.  This Schott Bros leather flight jacket is based on the MA-1, developed during the 1950s for use with the then new jet technology.  The label reads “Jacket Flyer’s Man Intermediate Type MA-1 Contract No. AF/127 Stock No MA-1-1949 Schott Bros. Inc. N.Y.C. U.S.A.”.  This Schott leather flight jacket does up the front centre with a black metal zipper.  It has a vertical slash pocket at either side that close with Schott copper snaps - the pockets are accessible both from the interior and exterior.  The left sleeve has a zippered patch pocket on it.  The collar, cuff and bottom are finished in expandable woolen polyester fabric.

Material: Leather in a medium weight pebbled finish.  The sleeve lining is polyester and the body lining is cotton.

Sizing: Size S for small is indicated on this Schott Bros leather flight jacket but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the leather into consideration:

Shoulders:  17 1/2” across, seam-to-seam

Sleeves:  26 1/2” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  20 1/2”

Chest: 44” around, 22” pit-to-pit

Bottom: 32” around, expands to 35”

Overall length: 26“ measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This Schott Bros leather flight jacket is in excellent condition with practically no signs of wear.  The ribbed collar shows some sign of use, but very minor.  This jacket really looks to have seen very little use.  These Schott Bros leather flight jackets are solidly made and very robust, so with a bit of care, will last for years to come.
