This is a wonderful early example of a vintage Gottex swimsuit, dating most likely to the late 1950s.  It is a two piece bathing suit that is made with green and white horizontal stripes.  The top has a double button back closure and the bottom is made in a “boy shorts” style with solid green ties at the waist.  The top has a built in bra.  Gottex was a pioneer of swimsuits with hard-cup bras and the first to introduce spandex.
Label: Original Gottex Model.  Gottex was founded in Tel Aviv, Israel in 1956 by Lea Gottlieb who was the chief designer until 1998.
Fabric:  No label, but this vintage Gottex swimsuitis made of some sort of synthetic knit, probably incorporated with spandex
Sizing:  The size label reads “Continental 40 American 32”, so although this vintage Gottex swimsuit should fit a size small, please note the following measurements for fit, noting that the fabric does have a bit of stretch:
Top band:  28” around
Bust:  should fit a 32” bust
Waist:  28”
Bottoms rise:  11”
Condition:  It is in excellent condition with no pronounced wear.
This is an uncommon example of an early vintage Gottex swimsuit - wonderful 1950s style!
