Vintage NIP 1950s Cotton Pillowcases for Hospital Use 42”

$45.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a pair of 1950s cotton pillowcases made for commercial use, hospitals or institutions - note the nurse graphic on the label.  These 1950s cotton pillowcases are still wrapped in their original cellophane.  The label reads “Tex-Made T.M. Reg’d Wearwell Pillow Slips Specially Designed for Hard Usage Made in Canada By Dominion Textile Co. Limited Montreal”.  Dominion Textile was founded in 1905 and closed in 1998 - it was a household name in Canada.  The Tex-Made trademark was registered in 1947 - I would assume that these pillowcases date to the 1950s, possibly late 1940s.  The label on the back reads “One Pair Tex-Made Slips Size 42”.  There is a small perforation to the cellophane at one corner, so you would want to launder these 1950s cotton pillowcases, but they make an interesting display.  The package measures 8 1/4” by 5 1/2” and weighs 9.6 oz.  Rare - I haven’t been able to find another similar pair of 1950s cotton pillowcases anywhere….
