This is a wonderful gold toned bib necklace made by jewelry designer Donald Stannard.  Donald Stannard worked with Kenneth J Lane from 1968 until 1972 when he started his own business, earning mention in Vogue - his silver ring and earrings appear in a photo along with an Yves Saint Laurent blouse.  Stannard designed jewelry for Broadway plays, including Evita and Hello Dolly, movies and television shows, including the Dynasty series.   This piece takes inspiration from the Egyptian Revival design movement, featuring the “Eye of Horus” raised on the centre panel, and a “bib” form reminiscent of ancient Egyptian jewelry.  It is made of three linked panels, each with affixed ball forms to the top edge and dangling balls on the bottom edge.  The front measures 3” in height at the centre, exclusive of the dangles, and the three panels measure 7 1/2” across.  The neck measures about 16” around its interior edge.  It is in very good condition with no noted wear.  It has an affixed metal plaque that is stamped “©Donald Stannard”.  Dramatic statement necklace - great piece of collectible jewelry from a noted designer!
