This is a quite striking demi-parure, consisting of earrings and brooch made by New York jewelry manufacturer Robert Originals.  Robert Originals was founded in 1942 as the Fashioncraft Jewelry Co.  The designer’s name was Robert Levy and his business partners were David Jaffe and Irving Landsman.  Landsman left in 1952 and the company’s name was changed to Robert Originals Inc. in 1960.  I’ve read that a copyright symbol was used in the signature after 1955 - although there is no copyright symbol on the signature on this brooch, I still think that this set dates post-1955.  Robert jewelry was considered to be high end costume jewelry and was used in television shows and even in the movie “Viva Zapata” with Marlon Brando.  It was quite expensive with a demi like this selling for $50 during the 1940s.

The set is made with silver toned metal settings and decorated with pink rhinestones, aurora rhinestones and faux pearls.  The brooch measures 3” by 2 1/4” while the earrings measure 1 1/4” in length.   The earrings have clip-on fasteners.  All three pieces in very good condition with no wear, missing stones or repairs - this is a very nicely preserved demi of excellent quality.

Quite the ornate design, these are sure to be noticed - very pretty set!
