Vintage 1920s English Mens Straw Boater Premier Hat Shops Ottawa Size M

This is a beautiful quality 1920s era straw boater hat, an important mens fashion accent during the early 20th century.  This hat was made in England, and features an intricate weave with rigid straw in a fairly thick construction.  The lining is printed with a crown and medals that has incorporated text that reads “Gold Medals Superior Make” and surrounding text that reads “Made in England Expressly for Premier Hat Shops Ltd. Ottawa, Canada”.  The printed area is covered with plastic in order to protect it and the interior is covered in net.  It has a leather sweatband with a white ribbon through it.  The exterior crown has a grey and red silk grosgrain ribbon around it with a bow at the side.  The hat is in very good condition - a very slight bit of moisture staining to the top lining and a bit to the sweatband, very minor.  The straw looks totally intact - one small bent piece to the underside right side, but really, I’m being very picky in mentioning this.  The original owner’s name “Hugh Woodward” is written on tape affixed to the plastic at the top - you can easily remove this if desired.  The interior dimensions of the opening are 6 1/4” by 7 3/4” and the sweatband measures 22” around, so this should fit a size 7.

Excellent English quality - the weave is quite fabulous….Nice hat in wonderful condition!
