This is a wonderful evening jacket made by Guy Laroche - Paris.  The jacket has small pads in the shoulders, fabulous batwing sleeves and is sequinned over the front and back on a black silk crepe fabric.  It closes with ties at the neckline and a single button at the bottom - otherwise, the jacket is open at the front.  It is unlined.

Label: Guy Laroche Paris Boutique Collection Made in France.  Guy Laroche (1923-1989) was a renowned French designer who began his career in 1949 working for Parisian couturier Jean Desses.  He established his own fashion house during the mid-50s and was one of the first French designers to create separates.  He opened his first boutique in 1961, his second boutique in 1973 and opened additional boutiques in 1974, so this piece would have been designed for sale in one of those boutiques.

Sizing: French size 40 is indicated, which is equivalent to a US size 10 - please note the following measurements for fit (your body measurements should be smaller, or measure a similar garment that you own):

Sleeves:  29 1/2” from the neck opening

Bust:  Difficult to measure due to the batwing sleeve and whether a gap is left at the centre, but probably about 36”

Length:  18 1/2” long, measured flat

Condition: It is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors.  This jacket looks like it saw little use,, and was very well cared for over the years.

This is a quality 1970s era evening jacket - great piece to add to a plain black crepe dress!
