This is a wonderful 1960s era cocktail party dress that was made by Daymor Dress Inc. of Montreal as part of their “Accentique” line. It is sleeveless, has a boat or “bateau” neckline, a sequinned and beaded bodice and a chiffon skirt that falls in drapes in a to-the-knee length. The sequins are in a square shape in tones of green and aurora, applied to a green acetate base fabric.  The floral appliqués are in metallic silver cloth with black bead detail and outlining.  The waistband is also in the same type of silver cloth, also accented with black beads.  The skirt is laid over a green acetate base.  The dress closes with a nylon zipper up the back.

Label:  Accentique

Maker’s tag:  Daymor Dress Inc. Montreal.  Daymor was founded during the mid 1950s and had offices in New York.  They now produce formal wear under the Daymor Couture label with a specialization in mother of the bride and groom garments.

Sizing:  The maker’s ticket reads size 11, so although this should fit a medium to large size, please rely on the following measurements for fit (please measure your body or a similar garment that you might own for comparison):

Bust: 37” around

Waist: 26”

Hips:  38”, meant to fall loosely

Overall length: 39“, from the top of the shoulder strap to the hemline, measured flat

Condition:  It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odour.  This dress looks to have seen little, if any, use at all and was well stored over the years.

This is a very pretty dress in a striking colour - great piece for a St. Patrick’s Day party!
