This is a wonderful green 100% wool “duffle parka” coat that is embroidered with Inuit / Eskimo motifs - an igloo, an Inuit wearing a similar parka and a woman tending to a fire.  I believe that the coat dates to the 1960s.  The wool is similar to that used on Hudson Bay blanket - thick, warm and with a very identifiable nappe (finish).  It is hand embroidered with wool yarn in tones of red, orange, blue, yellow, green and white.  It is constructed with a hood that is trimmed with fox fur and has embroidered ribbon trim at the cuffs and decorative stitching bordering the ribbon, on the pockets and along the opening and around the hemline.  It does up the front with a heavy duty Clix double metal zipper and the neck does up with rope ties.  There is a pocket at either side that is trimmed in orange rickrack.  It has a blue nylon lining.  It should fit a size medium, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders:  22” across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam

Sleeves:  24” from shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  20”

Bust:  48” around

Waist:  44” around

Overall length:  33”, measured flat

Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear or staining.  Very clean, this looks to have seen little use and has been well kept and stored over the years.

This is a wonderful wool parka - striking embroidery and colour, sure to be noticed!
