From the 60s here's a completely hand tailored lightweight plaid wool coat from Brioni, a world class Italian couturier and tailor that was established in 1945. It features two vent pleats in the back of the coat, a belt with wood and metal button fastenings. It does up with 3 large snaps at the neckline, one at the bust and two at the hips. It has two side pockets. I do believe the belt is made to be done up at the back, my mannequin is a little large for the coat, it is meant for someone who is shorter with a smaller waist. Of course, the buttons could be changed to accommodate sizing. I have shown photos of it doing the belt up at the back and at the front.

A little history about Brioni.  When they began they dressed such stars as Cary Grant and Anna Magnani in Rome's famous Via Veneto. They still cater to the likes of famous actors and heads of state. It all began with the partnership of Gaetano Savini & Nazareno Fonticoli. From the very beginning they knew the only the way to succeed was through a combination of perseverance and vision, one has to dare in order to be recognized and to succeed. Savini was the first to to hold a menswear fashion show back in Florence in 1952 - and Brioni was also among the first to create fragrances for men.

Condition: Is excellent with lining intact. No wear, marks, odor. The only thing I can see is the lining has a little bit of light soiling to it.

A beautifully tailored coat from the swinging sixties by one of the best Italian couturiers, Brioni.
