This is a wonderful vintage ladies’ 1950s ski jacket made by Franconia Ski Wear Ltd. of Boston.  This 1950s ski jacket has an attached hood and closes with a brass zipper down the front and with ties at the neckline - the zipper goes up to the top should you wish to use the hood and otherwise can be partially unzipped at the top for an après ski look.  It is made of a blue treated cotton poplin and decorated with embroidered leaf ribbon in two V shapes at the bodice.  The sleeves have elasticized black cuffs and there is a zippered pocket at the right side only.  This 1950s ski jacket is unlined - jackets like this were generally worn over sweaters and not meant to provide warmth but to protect against moisture.
