This is a lovely wool challis shawl scarf made by Gucci during the 1980s.  The scarf is woven with an ornate floral design against a blue ground with ochre yellow border.  The colors are quite vibrant, in tones of ochre yellow, red, green, teal, purple, dropped out white, grey and brown.  The scarf measures 52” square, exclusive of its pulled fringe edge.  It is in very good condition - there are some different coloured threads visible at the border (see close-up photos), but this appears to be original to the manufacture of the piece and very minor in any case.  I have noticed one small stain, difficult to see and there is a slight scent of perfume. The shawl has just recently been dry cleaned, so is ready for use.  This is quite the lovely shawl - Gucci quality was exceptionally high during the late 80s!
