This is a wonderful 1930s era banjo brooch. The body is made of clear lucite plastic, carved with a bit of detail and the neck is made of black plastic, possibly bakelite. It has four metallic looking strings and a wood-like bridge, that might also be a type of bakelite, although I’m not sure. This banjo brooch has a C type catch - I’ve read that these tend to be earlier, circa 1910 and before, but I’m fairly sure that this piece is later than that. It is in very good condition - one of the strings was out of its slot in the bridge for the photo, but I’ve put it back where it belongs. The banjo brooch measures 4 1/4” in height. Wonderful piece for the banjo player!
