This is a wonderful brutalist pendant signed by Montreal jeweller Guy (Gilles) Vidal.  It is made of pewter with electroplated silver and is cast as an irregular “sun” shape with different forms and textures at its center.  It is signed by the backside with a stylized GV, which dates the pieces to the 1960s.  The pendant measures 2 5/8” in diameter.  The piece comes with a plain black rope so that it can be worn around the neck like a necklace - the rope has a “fall” of 12 1/2” doubled up straight.  The pendant is in very good condition with no notable wear.

Examples of Vidal’s work are highly sought after - he and Robert Larin are two Canadian jewelry designers who worked in similar metal and had similar designs during the 1960s and 70s....this is a very interesting piece!
