This is a fabulous early 1970 Courreges velour hoodie featuring a striking orange color with white trim, very youthful looking.  The Courreges logo appears in white at the upper front left.  The hood is orange polyamide (nylon) lined, and has a white drawstring.  It is trimmed in white as are the slash pockets at either side.  The sleeve cuffs are in white as is the bottom of the piece.  It does up with seven white metal snaps down the front.  It is unlined

Label:  Courreges Paris Hyperbole Made in France.  Andre Courreges is a legendary Parisian fashion designer, known for his avant garde “space age” design during the 1960s, and his innovative, “fresh” looking designs through the 70s.  The Hyperbole line was introduced in 1971, with a focus on sportswear designed for younger clients.

Color:  Orange and white

Material: 52% Cotton, 26% Viscose and 22% Polyamide

Sizing: Size 00 is indicated, which is a Courreges size code for a US size 4. The lady from whom this was acquired normally wore a French size 34/US size 4 - please note the following measurements for fit (your body measurements should be smaller, or measure a similar garment that you own):

Shoulders:  15 1/2” across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam

Sleeves:  23” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve inseam:  17” long

Bust:  36”, meant to fit loosely

Waist:  28” around, unstretched

Length:  20” long, measured flat

 

Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odors, in fact, this hoodie looks like it saw very little use, and was very well cared for over the years.

 

This is a rare piece - it’s unusual to have vintage Courreges of this type to survive in this condition....striking color.....iconic fashion piece.
