This is a 1970s spring coat made in a very bright orangey pink toned red acrylic fabric.  The acrylic is woven in a wool waffle finish.  This 1970s spring coat is made in a below the knee length, has a rounded collar and a bib front with a four black button closure. There is a 21” deep box pleat at the bottom back and a slash pocket at either sides.  The coat is lined in red acetate.

Maker’s label:  None, but the CA identification number on the content label belongs to the Sterling Coat and Cloak Company of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Union label:  ILGWU - International Ladies Garment Workers Union used between 1968 and 1984

Content:  100% acrylic outer shell / 100% acetate lining

Lining label:  Indicates an order date of November 1973, so this coat would date to 1973-1974 

Sizing: No size is indicated on this 1970s spring coat, and although it should fit a medium size, please note the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior:

Shoulders:  17” across shoulder seams

Sleeves:  23”  from the shoulder seam

Sleeve inseam:  16”

Bust: 40” around 

Waist: 38”  around

Hips:  42”

Overall length: 40", measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This 1970s spring coat is in very clean condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour - it was very well cared for over the years.
